Information letter on childcare facilities - group member

Please note! This information is important for you.

Dear parent(s)/guardian(s),

This letter has been sent to you because your child, while at the childcare facility, was in contact with another child or an employee who has corona.

What does this mean for your child?

Your child is possibly infected with corona. Children usually do not become very ill as a result. As long as your child does not have any symptoms associated with corona, your child may continue going to the childcare facility. If, at a later date, it turns out that there are more infections in the group, then the Municipal Public Health Services (GGD) may change their advice on this matter.

Health-related symptoms
You should closely monitor the health of your child during the coming 10 days. If your child develops any symptoms associated with corona, have your child tested immediately. Such symptoms include:

  • cold-like symptoms: nasal congestion, a runny nose, sneezing, a sore throat
  • coughing
  • tightness of the chest or shortness of breath
  • a temperature or fever
  • sudden loss of smell and/or taste

Then you should immediately make an appointment for a test at the Municipal Public Health Services (GGD) via 0800-2035. Never do a self-test if you have any symptoms. Your child must stay at home and should avoid having any contact with persons outside your household until the test result is known.

At you can find more information on testing children.
