Information letter for secondary education – classmates

Please note! This information is important for you.

Dear pupil and parent(s)/guardian(s),

This letter has been sent to you because one or more pupils in your class or one or more employees in your school have COVID-19. As a result, there is a chance that you may also be infected with COVID-19. However, as long as you have not tested positive yourself and do not have any symptoms associated with COVID-19, you may continue to go to school.

However, it is crucial that you avoid any contact with vulnerable people up to and including the 10th day after your most recent contact with the person infected with COVID-19. Please note: in the case of a positive test result, you must always stay at home.

Testing if you develop symptoms

Monitor your health extra carefully over the next 10 days. If you develop any symptoms associated with COVID-19, such as:

  • cold-like symptoms (nasal congestion, a runny nose, sneezing, a sore throat)
  • coughing
  • tightness of the chest or shortness of breath
  • a temperature or fever
  • sudden loss of smell and/or taste

you should take a self-test immediately. If your symptoms persist or get worse, you should take a self-test the following day to be sure. If the result of the self-test is negative, you are allowed to go to school.

If you cannot take a self-test, have yourself tested at the GGD. You can make a test appointment with the GGD by calling 0800-2035 or going to You must stay home and should not have any contact with anyone outside your household until you have received the test result.
